Norwegian Elkhound
The Norwegian Elkhound is a hardy hunting dog of medium size and substance, and is square in profile. He has the courage, agility and stamina to hold moose and other big game at bay by barking and dodging attack, and the endurance to track for long hours in all weather over rough and varied terrain. Evidence of his existence over 7,000 years ago has been found in archaeological research. In the interim, he has served as a comrade to the vikings, guardian of lonely farms, herder and defender of flocks, and a roamer with hardy men.
