Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen
The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV), one of many small varieties of French hounds, is of ancient origin. This small hunting dog has an intriguing and charming appearance and personality. But it is important to remember that this is a hound developed to hunt game by scent, usually hare and rabbit, but sometimes feathered game. To function efficiently, he must be equipped with certain characteristics. He is bold and vivacious in character while being compact, tough and robust in construction. He has an alert outlook, lively bearing, and a good voice which is freely used.
