Pharaoh Hound

The Pharaoh Hound is one of the oldest domesticated dogs in recorded history, tracing its lineage back some 5,000 years.  The Pharaoh Hound gives a striking impression of elegance, power and grace.  He is intelligent, friendly and affectionate.  His great speed combined with his alertness and agility makes him a very successful hunter. 

An outstanding feature of the Pharaoh Hound is their beautiful amber eyes.  Their nose, eye rims and lips are flesh colored, blending with the coat.  Many seem to display a marvelous trait of smiling, and actually seem to blush when given special attention.  Their willingness to please makes the Pharaoh Hound easy to train.
